Curly Mares

*Spar's Barefoot Contessa. 2003 Pintaloosa Curly mare. *Tessa has sporthorse written all over her - she is an own daughter of *Spartacus and is out of our mare *Chip's Barefoot Babe, both of which are now deceased.

*Tessa has the very typical Curly temperament and is the self appointed welcoming committee to our farm, she usually hurries over to meet everyone upon arrival - once you meet her you will remember her! Most people ask if she is for sale, but she will never be offered for sale - this is a once in a lifetime horse. *Tessa is a wonderful riding horse and exceeded all my hopes and expectations for a horse partner.

*Tessa's main area of excellence is dressage and she has been competing and showing very well. She has also proven herself to be a great endurance prospect - she has done two seasons now of endurance rides and placed well - she loves it!

April 2007 *Tessa produced her first foal *Sandman's Barefoot Angel. This is an amazing crossing of the *Sandman line with the *Spartacus line with a healthy dose of quality from the grand-dam *Chip's Barefoot Babe. *Angel (now known as *Katy) was sold - congratulations, Pippa!

For the spring of 2010 *Tessa is expecting her second foal also from *Sandman's Magic - please do inquire if you are interested in this cross - it is expected to be another incredible one!

*Tessa's Pedigree.

*Poplar's Bijou. 2001 extreme Curly mare. *Bijou is coming from the excellent Curly breeding program of Joan Collins of Oregon, USA. I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky to own this half sister to our senior stallion *Sandman's Magic. *Bijou has already produced two really exceptional foals, her loudly coloured 2006 appaloosa Curly colt went to Austria as a stallion prospect.

For 2008 *Bijou has produced a really fine Curly/Arabian/Appaloosa colt - please have a look at *Captain Cruise. *Cruise is half Arabian and is registered with the Canadian Arabian Partbred Registry, he is gelded and now offered for sale.

I have high hopes and high expectations for *Bijou and she continues to meet and FAR exceed them. She is just so easy to handle and manage and we have been enjoying riding her all summer. I have reluctantly offered her up for sale, but every time I take her out riding I have to ask myself why I would part with her. The only reason would be she is such a pet that I know she would really adore being someone's best friend and if she can be that for someone then I would consider parting with her. *Shesa Magic Charm. 2005 homebred Curly mare - sire is *Sandman's Magic, and dam is a lovely Quarab mare, Absolutely Charming.

*Charmin' is now under saddle and doing very well. She is the FIRST *Sandman baby we have held onto long enough to put under saddle and I'm very excited to "show her off". She is doing well in the arena and has started jumping. *Charm is very beautiful, correct conformation and super sweet to handle - she has always been a favorite with my children.

*Sheila Sister Act. 2006 Appaloosa Curly mare.

*Sheila is all I could hope for in the cross between *Sandman and Cordova True Colours, she is simply exceptional! *Sheila is scheduled to go to a local reining trainer in January of 2010, I am so looking forward to what she can do. She has sport written all over her! Keep an eye on this girl!

**My New Flame

*Flame comes from one of my favorite Curly sires, *Elko Nevada. This stallion has consistently produced lovely, athletic correct horses. *Flame is no exception, she has lovely, elegant movement and is a real beauty, correct conformation and a lovely bright chestnut colour with flaxen mane and tail.

*Flame is bred to *Sandman for a 2010 foal, we are really looking forward to see what they can produce together.

*Flame is registered with the ICHO and is eligible for ABC and CSI registration also. She is currently offered for sale, asking $4000.00. Terms always available on my horses.

Amazing Grace: Gracie 1998 - 2007. She was a fully registered, ABC S-593, ICHO 214-S mare. A straight haired Curly with an impressive pedigree, full of *'s and all of the wonderful attributes of a Curly, she was my favourite riding horse. She did it all, lessons, jumped, went western, did 4H , parades and attended horse shows where she is always in the ribbons. She was very sadly lost to us November 26, 2007.

March 2003 saw the birth of Gracie's first foal, *Magic Kobee, he was sold in utero. *Sandman and Gracie's first colt simply could not have pleased us more - he is tall, elegant, superior temperament and very Curly.

2004 Gracie presented us with another excellent foal, this time a filly. Please click for pictures of *Magic Trix. *Magic Trix is sold and now lives in Kansas.

Gracie's third foal (2006) was another filly - this mare continued to give us the most exceptional foals - please meet *Shines Like Grace - aka *Glory. Congratulations Annette, *Glory has also gone to Kansas to the happy owner of *Magic Trix.

April 9, 2007 my Babe crossed the rainbow bridge - it was a very sad day around here to say good-bye to my friend and a piece of my heart. Rest easy my girl.

*Babe had near perfect conformation, a lovely, forward, powerful way of moving and she had a superb temperament.

My beloved *Babe had four perfect foals for us:

2004 - *Sandman's Jackpot by our stallion *Sandman's Magic.

2005 - *Special Legacy also by our stallion *Sandman's Magic.

2006 - *Babe gave us another spectacular colt: *Sharlotte's Webster aka Spidey, sired by *Sandman's Magic. Spidey is for sale.
